USC Health Care Business Club is the university’s premier, professional healthcare networking organization. In the past, we have had various companies from the industry such as Triage, Epic, Amgen, and many others, to recruit students for a variety of internship and full-time opportunities. We also bring in speakers to give a more in depth look at a professional career in the health care industry and to share their thoughts and experiences.

A Career in Health Care Administration and Legislation That You Can Understand: An Evening with Dr. Michael Nichol

Interested in a career in the health care administration sector? Confused about what the candidates’ proposed health care plans entail and mean? Join USC Health Care Business Club for a talk with Dr. Michael Nichol of the USC School of Pharmacy as he discusses the profession of health care administration and the focal points in the currently proposed and enacted health care legislation. Dr. Nichol holds joint appointments with the Price School of PPD and Andus School of Gerontology. In addition to his teaching role, Dr. Nichol is the Director of Graduate Programs in Health at the Price School of PPD. Dr. Nichol earned his Ph.D. in Public Administration from USC, and his areas of interest and expertise are health care economics (health care cost and resource utilization) and health policy. This event will be held on Thursday, 10/25 at 6:30 PM in ACC 310.

GHAW Net-walking Luncheon on Sunday 4/1 from 12pm to 2pm at Gerontology Courtyard

Kick off Global Health Awareness Week 2012 with the Net-walking Luncheon, co-sponsored by HCBC! Join us for our networking lunch, where students can meet and interact with health care professionals, graduate students, and pre-health peers.

Talking to professors, doctors, or graduate students is essential if you are planning on pursuing a career in health care or graduate school. Come practice your networking skills and build your confidence at our event – we will provide you with useful tips on how to interact professionally!

Enjoy a free lunch while meeting new people and getting to know others interested in health. We hope to see you there!

Professional Meeting: Triage Consulting on Thurs. 2/9 @ 5:30pm in ACC 205

Professional Meeting with Amgen on Thurs. 11/17 @ 5pm

Greetings Trojans,

USC Health Care Business Club invites you to a Professional Meeting with Amgen on Thursday, November 17th, 2011 at 5 pm in Bridge Hall (BRI) 8. Come network with recruiters and learn about different career opportunities available at Amgen. 


There will be a brief presentation about the company, future opportunities, and summer internships followed by a networking session, during which the recruiters will be accepting resumes. Amgen will be focused on recruiting for the finance deparment. However, students from various backgrounds and majors are encouraged to come. Amgen sponsors work visas for international students as well. 


The event will start promptly at 5 pm. We suggest that you research Amgen before coming and bring a copy of your resume to the meeting. Food and refreshments will be provided. Attire is Business Casual. Please contact uschcbc@gmail.com with any questions.

USC Health Care Business Club presents: A Recruiting Night With Epic. The event will begin promptly at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, October 26th in HOH 306.Epic is one of the major beneficiaries of the Government’s recent $20 billion investment in expanding the use of healthcare information technology and a leader in this field. It is anticipated that Epic’s software will soon serve 20% of the U.S. population.
Epic is recruiting for students interested in a career in software development but all majors are welcome to attend to learn more about the company’s opportunities. We suggest you bring a copy of your resume to the event. Paid and NON-Paid Members are welcome (reserved seating for paid members.) You can become a member by filling out the online membership form!

Are you interested in making a difference and helping out at the largest AIDS fundraising event in California? If so, volunteer with HCBC at the annual LA AIDS Walk! Be the first face participants see the morning of AIDS Walk Los Angeles! Sign-In Volunteers check in walkers and collect the funds they have raised. Please bring a valid photo ID. Rides will be provided.
